About Us

“Meraki” is a Greek word that beautifully captures the spirit of doing something with passion, creativity, and love, a philosophy at the heart of everything we create.

Based in Mumbai, India’s fashion and design capital, we are a hand-embroidery studio dedicated to creating timeless, high-quality handcrafted pieces for global fashion houses, interior brands, and bespoke project partners. Our work blends centuries-old Indian craftsmanship with modern design sensibilities, ensuring every piece that leaves our studio carries precision, creativity, and artistry and embodies timeless elegance.

Meraki Embroidery was founded in 2019 by Sangeeta, a fashion graduate with over two decades of experience in the world of understated luxury for women’s wear. A deep fascination for textiles, embellishment, and couture craftsmanship led to the creation of a professional design and embroidery studio built on artistry, precision, and devotion to the craft. What began as a personal creative journey is today a global embroidery house specialising in hand and machine embroidery for:

Design Inspiration & Concept Development

We develop embroidery collections that are modern, feminine, and aligned with global seasonal trends. Inspiration comes from trend reports, trade fairs, exhibitions, and close conversations with our clients.

Client Selection & Customisation

Clients may choose from our in-house embroidery swatches or share their own designs and patterns. We then create an initial sample based on the brief.

Artwork Creation (Tracing & Printing)

The approved design is traced on paper - known as the Artwork - punched, and then superimposed onto the client’s fabric for precise placement.

Embroidery Execution

Using traditional frames and specialised techniques, our artisans bring the artwork to life with beads, crystals, stones, sequins, feathers, ribbons, antique pieces, and more.
